Snowsport Base Layers

Snowsport Base Layers

Snow sports happen in cold conditions, even on a bright sunny day you can feel the chill in the shade or at altitude.  They also involve a fair bit of exertion, especially in the early stages, which means you can overheat and end up a bit on the damp side.  To stay comfortable you need a dry layer next to your skin, so avoid absorbent cotton T-shirts which will stay wet and chill as you cool down sitting on the lift, or waiting for the rest of your class to catch up.  Instead, choose a lightweight, close-fitting stretchy fabric, such as Climate Control from Five Seasons or Demon's Spandex, to wick moisture away to the next layer - and don't forget your legs need looking after too...
